Firework shows near you this 4th of July season

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – With July 4 falling on a Sunday this year, the area firework celebrations are spread out over the long holiday weekend. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to plan for several great firework shows as America celebrates Independence Day.  

Firework shows in Cullman County and surrounding areas: 

Fireworks Over Cullman 

Where: Heritage Park Cullman 

When: Friday, July 2  

Time: 9 p.m. 

Cost: Free 

Hosted by Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism 

The Smith Lake Park Fireworks and Music Festival 

Where: Smith Lake Park  

When: Sunday, July 4 

Time: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. with fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. 

Cost: $5 per person 

Hosted by Cullman County Parks & Rec, this all-day event will feature live music, arts and crafts, food and tons of fun activities such as a golf cart parade, putt-putt, beach and swimming pool. Some activities cost extra. 

Faith, Family, Freedom Firework Extravaganza  

Where: Good Hope Municipal Park 

When: Sunday July 4 

Time: 7:30 p.m. with fireworks starting at dark 

Cost: Free 

Hosted by Branded by Christ Cowboy Church, the festivities will include the horse parade starting at 7:30 p.m. They will also hand out water, Popsicles and glow sticks.  

20th Annual Freedom Celebration in Fairview 

Where: Fairview Community Park 

When: Sunday, July 4 

Time: 8 p.m. 

Cost: Free  

Sponsored by First Baptist Church of Fairview, Merchants Bank, Temple Baptist Church, Town of Fairview, Welcome Baptist Church, Brandin Iron Steakhouse, Brindley Mountain Barbeque, Fairview Superette and Walker Brothers, this is truly a community event. Live music will be performed by the FBCF worship team at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. Concessions will also be available.  

Town of Addison Independence Day Celebration 

Where: Alexander Park 

When: Saturday, July 3 

Time: 10 a.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m. with music festival continuing afterward 

Cost: Free 

Hosted by the Addison Volunteer Fire Department with fireworks provided by the Town of Addison, the festival will include an American Indian demonstration, tribute to American military and live music. The July 4 parade will begin at 10 a.m.  

New Hope Community Event 

Where: New Hope #2 Baptist Church (2290 County Road 1682, Cullman) 

When: Saturday, July 10 

Time: 6 p.m. 

Cost: Free 

Hosted by New Hope Baptist Church, this community event will have food, games, Old McDonald train and fireworks.  

Spring Valley Beach Water Park 4th of July Firework Show 

Where: Spring Valley Beach 

When: Saturday, July 3 

Time: 9 p.m. 

Cost: Free (parking in gravel parking lot) 

The firework show is sponsored by Spring Valley Beach, The Town of Blountsville and the Blountsville Business Association. Guests are encouraged to tune into 95.3 WCRL for patriotic music during the show.  

Fireworks Extravaganza in Oneonta 

Where: Parking at Oneonta School and Gym  

When: Sunday, July 4 

Time: 9 p.m. 

Cost: $5 donation per car 

Hosted by the Hometown Bank of Alabama, proceeds from the show will go to the schools in Oneonta. The show’s soundtrack can be heard on 95.3 WCRL 

Red, White & Bulls  

Where: No Fences Cowboy Church of Morgan County (3544 W. Lacon Road, Falkville) 

When: Friday, July 2 

Time: 5 p.m. 

Cost: Free 

Hosted by the No Fences Cowboy Church of Morgan County, this event will have bull riding beginning at 7 p.m., as well as barrels and mutton bustin. Guests can enjoy free food while supplies last. Fireworks will follow the scheduled events.  

Thunder on the Mountain 

Where: Birmingham 

When: Sunday, July 4 

Time: 9 p.m. 

Cost: Free 

Sponsored by Alfa Insurance and World Games 2022 Birmingham. 

Spirit of America at Point Mallard Park 

Where: Point Mallard in Decatur 

When: Sunday, July 4  

Time: 9 p.m. 

Cost: Free with costs for water park and some activities 

The 2021 Spirit of America Festival is a two-day event with fireworks at the end of the festival Sunday night. The festival will feature art, crafts, food vendors and lots of fun activities. The Point Mallard Water Park will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.  

Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular 

Where: Toyota Field in Huntsville 

When: Sunday, July 4 

Time: 4 – 9 p.m. 

Cost: $10 per person; 2 and under free 

Hosted by the Rocket City Trash Pandas, this fun event will include on-field activities, food trucks and live entertainment followed by a fireworks spectacular.
