Funeral Service for Mrs. Thelene Thomas, 85, of Hanceville, will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021, at Cullman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 -2 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow at Battleground Cemetery. Brother C. R. Hood will officiate the service.

Mrs. Thomas was born April 10, 1936 to Christopher David and Clara Pierce Lawrence. She passed from this life on May 4, 2021 at her residence. She absolutely loved flowers, people and family. She loved attending the Senior Center and traveling. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Thomas; infant son, Joseph; sisters, Ruthie, Earline, Imogene Ozell, Louise; brothers, Murphy, Jack, Billy and Wayne.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her sons: James Douglas (Brenda) Quick, Jackie (Terri) Lawrence; daughter: Shelia (Clif) Kanaday; sister: Kathleen Gregory; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Craig Kanaday, Cary Kanaday, Codi Kanaday, Mike Hill, Brian Lawrence and Jackie Lawrence.
