PREP SOCCER: Warriors, Lady Warriors fall to J.B. Pennington

WEST POINT, Ala. – J.B. Pennington made the trip to West Point for a pair of varsity matchups with the Warriors and Lady Warriors Tuesday night and edged out both squads in a pair of tight games to take home a pair of wins. The Lady Tigers pulled ahead in the second half to defeat the Lady Warriors and in the boys’ game, West Point fell behind 1-0 in the first half and wasn’t able to get on the scoreboard the rest of the way.

J.B. Pennington 3 – West Point 2 (Girls’ game)

The Lady Warriors took an early 1-0 lead when Vanesa Garcia placed a corner kick right in front of the goal and Grace Lee flew in to head the ball into the back of the net. J.B. Pennington was able to respond and pull ahead 2-1 by the halftime break.

Lee scored her second goal of the game unassisted to tie things up in the second half, but the Lady Tigers were able to score again as well and pulled ahead to defeat West Point 3-2.

J.B. Pennington 1 – West Point 0 (Boys’ game)

After the Tigers scored early to take a 1-0 lead into the half, neither team was able to get on the board the rest of the way and the Warriors fell to J.B. Pennington at home 1-0.
