CCBOE approves facility upgrades, property transfers

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE), at a special called meeting March 25, approved multiple facility upgrades and set in motion the disposal of two former school buildings to their local communities.

Construction projects

  • Vinemont High building flooring replacement contracted to Walker Brothers for $131,191.66 
  • Holly Pond Elementary library flooring replacement contracted to S & E Carpet & Vinyl for $12,756.33  
  • Vinemont Elementary library flooring replacement contracted to S & E Carpet & Vinyl for $14,865.88  
  • West Point Middle library flooring replacement contracted to S & E Carpet & Vinyl for $9,760.22
  • West Point High hallway flooring replacement contracted to S & E Carpet & Vinyl for $3,653.28 

Property transfers

The board approved the transfers of two schools and campuses no longer in use by the system:

  • Old Battleground School property to be transferred to the Battleground School Historical Board
  • Old Joppa School property to be transferred to the Joppa Historical Board

The CCBOE’s next meeting will take place Thursday, April 15, 2021 in the central office board room, with a work session at 3:30 p.m. and meeting immediately following.
