CULLMAN, Ala. – After defeating Randolph 4-0 on the road to improve to 2-1 earlier this week, the Lady Bearcats returned home Thursday night to host Gardendale in another varsity matchup. Cullman built a 3-0 lead going into the halftime break and then tacked on three more goals in the second half to secure a 6-0 win over the Lady Rockets.
Cullman 6 – Gardendale 0 (varsity girls)
Jeta Falcon scored the game’s first goal off an assist from Ashlei Bryant to make it 1-0 early in the first half and Elley Atchison scored off an assist from Mercy Vandyke 10 minutes later to give Cullman a 2-0 lead. Falcon was fouled inside the penalty box late in the first half and Bryant scored on a penalty kick to add to the lead and give the Lady Bearcats a 3-0 advantage at the half.
Cullman kept it going in the second half. Bryant connected with Mimi Lunsford and Lunsford found the back of the net to make it a 4-0 game with just over 30 minutes remaining on the clock. Bryant scored her second goal of the game just a few minutes later to make it 5-0 and Falcon scored her second of the night late in the game off an assist from Lunsford to wrap up a 6-0 win on their home turf.
Cullman improves to 3-1 on the season with the win and is scheduled to travel to 7A powerhouse Vestavia Hills next week.

West Point 5 – West Limestone 0 (varsity girls)
The Lady Warriors hit the field for their first game of the season Thursday night and collected a 5-0 win over West Limestone.
Grace Lee racked up three goals in the win for West Point and Kyli Armstead put two more in the back of the net to help lead the way for the Lady Warriors. Georgia Metrock kept the Lady Indians off the board with an impressive performance in goal. West Point kicks off the season 1-0 win the win and will be back on the field to host New Hope Monday night.
