In loving memory of Milton L. Burns
Milton L. Burns passed away Dec. 10, 2020. Milton was born in Blount County in 1934 to John and Lora Burns, who preceded him in death. He was married over 67 years to Mary Day Burns of Hanceville.
Milton is survived by his wife; two daughters Debora Burns Peerce (Brian) and Amy Burns; three grandchildren Brandon Peerce (Desirae), John Peerce (Chloe), and Alex Peerce; two great-grandchildren Peyton and Jack Peerce; and a sister Carolyn William.
He was preceded in death by a sister Faye Burns Childers and a brother Gene Burns.
Milton retired from CSX Railroad after a 30-year career, then worked another 18 years at Gardendale Barbershop. He was a devoted Christian who was always there, thick and thin, to love and support his family.
In light of the pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private graveside service will be held Dec. 12, 2020, at Fairview West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Fairview West Cemetery Fund.
