Obituary: Noah “Skip” Ritter Compton, Jr.

Noah “Skip” Ritter Compton, Jr., 63, of Cullman, Alabama passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020. He was born Sept. 14, 1957 in Richlands, Virginia to Noah Ritter Compton, Sr. and Lottie Geneva Lester.

Mr. Compton was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a member of the American Legion Post #4 in Cullman. Noah was proud of his country and he was honored to serve in the Marine Corps. We are grateful for his sacrifice and service to our nation.

Noah is preceded in death by his father Noah Compton, Sr.; beloved wife Janice Compton; and son B.J. Walker.

Survivors include his mother Jean Compton; brothers Jim Compton (Luann) and Pat Compton (Lisa); brother-in-law Ricky Kimbril; sisters-in-law Judy Kirkland (Red) and Freida Weeks (Jimmy); good friends Kyron Yarbrough and Joel Brannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mr. Compton are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 in Holly Pond Cemetery, with Brother Tommy Graves officiating. Kyron Yarbrough, Chris Kilgo, Shawn Kilgo, and Tyler Kilgo will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday evening, Nov. 18, 2020 from 6-8 p.m.
