Cullman man indicted for attempted murder

CULLMAN, Ala. – Charles Chase Thomas, 29, of Cullman was arrested this week after being indicted by a grand jury in September for attempted murder in the alleged attempted suffocation of Owain Bates. Thomas was arrested in January and initially charged with first-degree assault.

Shelbie Hankey has been assigned as Thomas’s attorney.

Thomas’ bail was set at $60,000 property. As of Thursday afternoon, according to AlaCourt, Thomas was still in the Cullman County Detention Center.
