Obituary: Bobby Ray Reynolds

Bobby Ray Reynolds, 76, of Double Springs passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020. He was born Feb. 11, 1944 in Double Springs, Alabama to James and Dollie Reynolds.

Bobby was a veteran in the Army National Guard; he enlisted Sept. 16, 1962 and was discharged Oct. 31, 1991. He was in service a total of 29 years, 1 month, and 15 days. He received many awards including 5 Army Achievement Medals, 2 Army Good Conduct Medals, 1 National Defense Service Medal, 4 Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Alabama Veterans Service Medal, NG Recruiting Badge, NCO Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Training Ribbon, Alabama National Guard Faithful Service Ribbon, and an Active Duty Basic Training Ribbon. Bobby was a loving dad and paw paw. He loved his family very much and he spent his time taking care of his family and his country. He will be missed by many.

Visitation for Bobby will be held Sunday, Sept.20, 2020 at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs from 2-3 p.m., where services will begin at 3 p.m. Burial with military honors will be held at Williams Cemetery in Black Pond Community. Pastor Chris Godfrey will officiate.

Bobby is survived by his daughters Becky (Jim) Smith and Jody (Andy) McSpadden; sons Joey (Jackie) Reynolds and Darrin (Cynthia) Reynolds; grandchildren Drake Prescott, Victoria Smith, Summer Reynolds, Chloe Reynolds, Kayla (Justin) Jones, Chelsey (DJ) Riddle, Hunter McSpadden, and Braden McSpadden; great-grandchildren Carley and Adalyn Jones and Brooklyn and Bryce Riddle; and brother David (Sandra) Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Dollie Reynolds; sister Carol Crowson; and grandparents Joe (Nancey) Williams.
