SOUTH VINEMONT, Ala. – Chris Thompson recently announced his candidacy for South Vinemont Town Council, place 1. He will face incumbent JoAnn Oakley in the Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020 Municipal Election.
Below is Thompson’s announcement:
My name is Chris Thompson and I am running for South Vinemont Town Council, place 1 Aug. 25, 2020. I am the co-owner of Man Cave Market and Premier Wholesale.
I have lived in South Vinemont and been in business for myself since 1991. In that time, I have watched the city of Cullman grow to what it is today and questioned why South Vinemont has not progressed at all. It is time for our town to move forward, and in order for that to happen, we need change.
In business, I have always been creative, aggressive and a problem solver. If elected, I will take and apply those qualities to making South Vinemont a place people are proud of and want to visit. I have the energy and the vision to make that happen.
I would like to establish community events and festivals throughout the year that generate both excitement and visitors to South Vinemont. I want to create learning opportunities for our children and offer activities that all families in our community can enjoy.
I am not a politician. I am a man of action. I am not running for office to make money. If elected, I will donate my pay and put it back into projects that benefit the residents of South Vinemont. Not only will I be at every meeting, I will continually work to make a difference and make things better. I promise you I will work harder than anybody and I will be the person who represents the hardworking people of this town.
I live here, I work here and I love the town of South Vinemont. I am asking for the opportunity to help move this town forward. I am excited about the opportunity, and I promise, I will make the best of it.
It’s time for change and to make things happen. I am the person who will make things happen.
