Obituary: Buna J. Warren

Buna J. “B.J.” Warren, 91, of Double Springs entered into rest Monday, June 29, 2020 at Hendrix Health and Rehab.

She was born Aug. 2, 1928 in Addison, Alabama.

B.J. owned and operated several floral businesses and loved growing and arranging flowers. She collected glass, especially milk glass and Depression-era glass. After her husband Bill passed away, her constant companion was her beloved fur-baby, Teacup.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from noon-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will begin at 2 p.m. Brother Donnie Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Double Springs.

“B.J.” is survived by her daughters Sarah Bonds and Karen Pulliam; son Thomas Bonds; sisters Peggy Patterson and Emma Dean Foretich; she was Granny B.J. to eight grandchildren: Jenea Witt and her husband, Ricky, Phillip Wilson and his wife, Cheryl, John Wilson and his wife, Sheila, Jessica Singley, G.W. “Wash” Bonds, IV, Leila Bonds Peterson and her husband Dustin, Rachel Patton and Taylor Bonds; 16 great-grandchildren: Aaron Hulsey, Josh Hulsey, Julie Hulsey, Heather K. Wilson-Miller, Darian Wilson, Eric Wilson, Jade Wilson, Johnathan Wilson, Will Singley, Sam Singley, Blake Ward, Kylan Peterson, Kamryn Peterson, Keedyn Peterson, Kynslee Peterson, and Jacoby Mapson; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Parker Denton and Gertrude Luker Denton; her first husband George W. “Snib” Bonds, Jr.; second husband Billy G. Warren; son George W. Bonds, III; sister Melva Wilson; and brother Ralph Denton.
