Obituary: Lola Beatrice Wilson

Lola Beatrice Wilson, 90, of Massey was born July 10, 1929 in Cullman and passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at The Sanctuary at the Woodlands in Cullman.

Lola loved to tell stories, especially of the years she spent in Michigan and of her family history. She was proud of her Native American heritage and could usually be found watching old Western movies or TV shows. She was an animal lover.

Preceding Lola in death were her parents O.D. and Myrtle Reno Swann; husband Bill Wilson; son Danny Milligan; sisters Modean McCrill and Marion Brown; and brothers Voight (Irvina) Swann and Edgar Swann.

She is survived by her sons James (Jeanne) Milligan, Larry Milligan, and David (Mary) Milligan; brother Sherill Swann; grandchildren Melanie (Jerome) Lambert, Wendy Sack, Amanda (Joe) Chatham, Katie (Matt) Fetzner, Danna (James) Spencer, Melissa (Matt) Collins, Elizabeth Milligan, and Cody Milligan; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; two step-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Beverly Milligan; sister-in-law Josie Swann; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family.

Funeral services are Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Gable officiating. Interment will follow services in Valley Springs Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Moss Funeral Home from 5:30-9 p.m.

Lola’s pallbearers will be Jerome Lambert, Aaron Lambert, Blake Lambert, Ryan Lambert, Joe Chatham and Henry Sack.
