CULLMAN, Ala. – A Vinemont man was found deceased in a motel room early Thursday morning in Cullman after Cullman Fire Rescue responded to a fire in the victim’s room.
Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick identified the victim as Daniel Mann, 30.
The incident happened at the Economy Inn, the old Anderson Motel, at 1834 Second Ave. NW (U.S. Highway 31 North).
Cullman Police Chief Kenny Culpepper said, “A passerby saw the smoke and called it in.”
Culpepper said firefighters were able to gain access to the room upon arrival.
“It happened around 3 a.m.,” said Cullman Fire Rescue Chief Brian Bradberry. “There was one fatality. The fire is currently being investigated by the state fire marshal.”
