Troy, Ala. – Three Trojans were named to Perfect Game’s list of the nation’s top 400 MLB Draft prospects, the organization announced earlier this week. Right-handed pitcher Tekoah Roby, a 2020 signee with the Trojans, was listed as the 112th best prospect in the draft while Levi Thomas and Rigsby Mosley checked in at No. 153 and 259 on the list, respectively.

Levi Thomas – RHP
Thomas’ draft stock soared after making just four starts in the shortened 2020 season. The junior began the year with seven consecutive strikeouts en route to fanning a career-high 14 batters on Opening Night. The next weekend, Thomas finished with 11 strikeouts and pitched six hitless innings against Louisiana Tech on a chilly February night to earn Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week honors for the second week in a row.

The Cullman, Ala., turned more heads on the national stage when he allowed no runs in 6.0 innings at No. 1 Florida. Thomas didn’t give up a run until his fourth start of the year against Michigan State at the Cox Diamond Invitational, an outing where he still struck out 11 batters.

His 42 strikeouts are the 10th-most nationally and his ERA of 0.39 is a top-15 mark in the country. Thomas’ WHIP of 0.65 was the 17th-best in the nation this season.

Thomas was also named in D1 Baseball’s list of the top junior pitchers from this season, checking in at No. 24.

Rigsby Mosley – OF
The 2019 Sun Belt batting champion came out swinging once again in 2020, hitting safely in the first 11 games of the season, this time from the leadoff spot. Mosley was hitting at a .351 clip and scored a team-best 20 runs before the season was abruptly halted.

10 of Mosley’s 26 hits went for extra bases, highlighted by a grand slam in the Saturday contest at No. 1 Florida. The junior notched seven doubles on the year which tied for second in the Sun Belt and was the 34th-most in the country.

Mosley was solid in the outfield as well, making his fair share of highlight real catches, primarily in left field. The Maitland, Fla., native did not commit an error all season.

Mosley was also listed as the 245th-best draft prospect according to D1 Baseball.

Tekoah Roby – RHP
Roby became one of the highest decorated pitchers to ever sign with the Trojans when he put pen to paper on National Signing Day in November. The Pensacola, Fla. native is listed as a top-30 right-hander nationally and the fifth-best righty in the state of Florida according to Perfect Game.

Roby has a fastball that reaches up to 94 mph and has the ability to throw three different pitches for strikes. The Pine Forest High School standout was a first-team All-State selection and was named the 2019 Pensacola News Journal Player of the Year.

Roby was also selected to the 2019 East Coast Pro Showcase.

Head Coach Mark Smartt on Tekoah Roby
“Tekoah is someone we targeted early in the recruiting process two years ago and is one of the top pitcher’s in the country. He might be the most decorated pitcher to sign at Troy. We really like what he presents on the mound. Tekoah has the ability to throw three pitches for strikes with power which will allow him to compete right away at the Division I level.”
