HOLLY POND, Ala. – Vinemont and East Lawrence traveled to Holly Pond on a rainy Monday night for this year’s Class 3A Area 13 Tournament and it was the hosting Lady Broncos that finished the night as tournament champions. After Vinemont edged past East Lawrence in four very tight sets (23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23), the Lady Eagles advanced to take on Holly Pond in the championship match.
The Lady Broncos fought off Vinemont in the first set 25-21 before finishing off the sweep in the next two sets 25-12 and 25-12 to capture the area tournament crown. Both Holly Pond and the Lady Eagles will advance to play in the North Super Regional Tournament at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville this Thursday.
The All-Area Tournament Team was announced during the trophy ceremony and featured three Lady Eagles and Lady Broncos standouts.

Lady Warriors finish runner up in Area 14 Tournament and advance to the North Super Regional Tournament at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville this Thursday.
4A Area 11 Tournament
Fairview 3 – Ashville 0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-15)
Good Hope 1 – Oneonta 3 (25-16, 16-25, 17-25, 23-25)
Fairview 3 – Oneonta 0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-16)
The Fairview Lady Aggies defeated Oneonta in the Area 11 Tournament championship match to win this year’s area tournament title. Fairview will advance to the North Super Regional Tournament at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville this Thursday.
3A Area 12 Tournament
Hanceville 0 – J.B. Pennington 3 (11-25, 19-25, 10-25)
1A Area 12 Tournament
The Meek Lady Tigers defeated Lynn to advance to the Area Tournament championship match where they swept Marion County (25-20, 25-17, 25-12) to capture the area tournament title. Meek will advance to the North Super Regional Tournament at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville this Thursday.
