GUIN, Ala. – After falling to Pickens County at home a week ago, the Meek Tigers hit the road Friday night to take on Marion County. The Red Raiders jumped out to an early lead over the Tigers and pulled away in the second half to win it 35-20.

Meek fell behind 14-0 quickly in the opening quarter and was down 20-0 at one point in the second. The Tigers managed to cut the lead to 20-6 but couldn’t get any closer than that before the halftime break. Meek scored again to make it 20-14 game early in the third quarter, but Marion County responded with two quick touchdowns to pull ahead 35-14 before the start of the fourth quarter.

The Tigers found the end zone once again at the start of the fourth, but it was too little, too late and the Red Raiders pulled away to win it 35-20.

Meek drops to 0-9 on the season with the loss and will be back on the road at Lynn next week to finish the regular season.
