Funeral services for Vanessa Ann Sims-Nichols, 35, of Bremen will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct.
13, 2019 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Ned Densby and Benny Shipp
officiating; interment in Corinth Church of Christ Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sims passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 at UAB Hospital. She was born Jan.
9, 1984 to Rodger Gilbert and Becky Sims.
Vanessa was a wonderful wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, niece, cousin and
friend. She will be missed by so many. “The battle has been fought, but
the struggle has been hard.”
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Cecila Gonzales; grandfather,
G.C. Sims; grandfather, Jim Gilbert; and uncle, Terry Sims.
Survivors include her husband, Chad Nichols; sons, Gage Jean and Tripp Nichols;
stepdaughter, Heidi Nichols; stepson, Austin Nichols; mother, Becky Sims; father,
Rodger Gilbert; sister, Jessica Sims; brother, Brandon Sims; grandmother, Cleo
Gilbert; aunts, Donna Jackson and Angel Gonzales; uncles, Ken Sims, Rick Sims,
Jim Gilbert, Fred Gilbert, and Dennis Gilbert; and a host of cousins, family
and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at Cullman Heritage
Funeral Home.
