HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State’s 16th-ranked volleyball team notched its 30th victory of the season at Bevill State on Wednesday night, sweeping the conference match (25-8, 25-18, 25-4).

Wallace State has compiled an impressive 30-1 record this season, including a perfect 12-0 mark in Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) play. The Lions are two league wins shy of earning their 12th straight regular-season championship.

“One of our strengths this season has been our depth. We have several quality players at every position and if we’ve had an injury or illness, I’ve been able to plug in a quality replacement,” said coach Randy Daniel. “I like the way we responded to our only loss last weekend. We have a talented group that believes in each other.”

Against Bevill State, sophomore Karlee Hale finished with 11 kills and six digs, while freshman Diamond Jones contributed 10 kills and seven digs. Jones, who is third in the league in kills (378), was named the ACCC Player of the Week on Tuesday. Hale has racked up 221 kills this season.

“Karlee and Diamond have been playing well for us lately. Hitting wise, they’ve have been very consistent all season,” Daniel said.

For Wallace State, KaLea Davis finished with a team-high 27 assists on Wednesday and Anna Renshaw added eight.

Courtney Patterson had team-high 15 digs for the Lions.

Wallace State’s lone loss of the season was to Catawba Valley (N.C.) Community College last weekend.

Wallace State hosts its annual Fall Bash beginning Friday at Tom Drake Coliseum. The Lions are scheduled to play Chattanooga State at 4 p.m. and Coastal Alabama-South at 8 p.m. They’ll play two more matches on Saturday.

Also participating in the Fall Bash are Catawba Valley, Cleveland State, Spartanburg Methodist College, Walters State, Wallace Community College-Selma and the Mississippi University for Women.
