SUMITON, Ala. – After falling in a nail-biter against Berry that went down to the final seconds, Meek hit the road to take on the Eagles of Sumiton Christian in a non-region showdown. The Tigers took a 6-0 lead early, but the Eagles tore off 28 unanswered points to defeat Meek and pick up their first win of the season.

An early touchdown made it a 6-0 game with the Tigers in front, but Sumiton Christian managed to tie things up by the start of the second quarter. The Eagles scored again midway through the second to pull ahead 14-6 and that score held as both teams went into the locker room at the half.

Sumiton Christian tacked on another score in the third quarter to make it 20-6 by the start of the final frame and begin pulling away. The Eagles found the end zone one more time in the fourth quarter to go ahead 28-6 and kept the Tigers off the board the rest of the way to win it.

Meek falls to 0-6 on the year with the loss but will have to shake this one off and bounce back next week when they head to Brilliant to resume region play.
