Amy Drake of Cullman passed away Sept. 15, 2019 at the age of 42. She was born in Cullman, October 21, 1976 to Lydon and Vikki Jordan Scroggins. Amy Drake lived a life out loud. Her love for life, her husband and her children was immense. She lived each day as if it were a celebration. You never wondered where you stood with Amy because she poured that love on everyone she met. As a cheerleader in her youth, she made many lifelong friends at CHS and her love for her community and the Bearcats carried through life. You could find her on Friday nights and Saturday mornings cheering the loudest of anyone in the stands. She was ever present at every event in her children’s lives and a “Mama Drake” to so many other children who loved her and will miss her so deeply. She touched so many lives and heads of hair in her years as a master cosmetologist. Amy left a beautiful impact on the world. She left you better than she found you and with a smile. Amy was a sports mom and a pageant mom. She was a cheerleader at Cullman High School, she was in the class of 1995 at Wallace State Community College, she was Mrs. Horizon of Hope and she loved her salon family. She was an adventure seeker and wasn’t afraid of anything. She supported her children in all that they did. In one week, she raised $10,000 dollars for her son’s team to go to the world series. Amy was everyone’s biggest supporter-pompoms and shakers- she was also known as “Weezie.” Celebration of life services for Amy are Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Malcolm Carter and Rev. Tim Lipsey officiating. Interment will follow services in Flint Creek Cemetery. Amy will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
