WEST POINT, Ala. – To prepare for the 2019 marching season, members of the West Point marching band are channeling their inner rock stars.

Director Bobby Patrick described the show as “some of the biggest classic rock songs ever on one football field at the same time.”

The band’s show will include rock classics like “Free Bird,” “We Will Rock You,” “Purple Haze,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Crazy Train,” “Ironman,” “Paint it Black” and “Dream On.”

Patrick is pleased with the work his students have put in, saying, “All of the camps went well. This is a hard-working group that has made huge strides so far. We’re excited to finish up the show and get it out there for everyone to enjoy. Folks, check these kids out at halftime – You won’t want to miss it!”

He continued, “This is my 24th year in education. In all that time, I’ve never had a group of students that have worked so hard. These students are truly my rock stars. The best part is, we get to share their hard work and talent with our wonderful community at West Point and on the road at away football games as we support our football team and as we represent West Point and Cullman County Schools at marching competitions.”

The West Point Warrior Band will also be performing at the Mud Creek Marching Festival in Hanceville, the Southern Hospitality Marching Festival in Hartselle and the Tennessee Valley Marching Invitational in Muscle Shoals later this year.
