Back-to-school events planned around the county

CULLMAN, Ala. – Many municipalities, churches and other organizations are holding back-to-school fun nights to help students celebrate the last two weeks of summer before the new school year starts. The times, locations and details for many of these events can be found below:

Saturday, July 27

Back-to-School Bash hosted by Gateway Mortgage Group – 2-6 p.m. at the Heritage Park soccer fields (1705 Lee Ave. SW, Cullman)

Guests can enjoy food, fun, live music and water slides for the kids. A map of the field is included on the event’s Facebook page.

Back-to-School Bash at Mt. Hernon Baptist – 4 p.m. at Mt. Hernon Missionary Baptist Church (4312 County Road 1570, Baileyton)

Visitors can partake food, fun and fellowship, and students in grades K-8 can receive free school supplies. Registration begins at 4, and guests must be registered and present to receive supplies.

Sunday, July 28

Center Hill Baptist’s Churchwide Back-to-School Fellowship – Noon at Center Hill Baptist Church (13108 County Road 747, Hanceville)

Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share and a change of clothes for the water activities.

Thursday, Aug. 1

The City of Good Hope’s Back-to-School Bash – 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Good Hope Municipal Park (135 Municipal Dr., Cullman, 35057)

Activities will include water slides, a kiddie pool, “back-to-school” pictures, a display of fire engines and a SWAT team. Free food and door prizes.

Friday, Aug. 2

The City of Hanceville’s Kids’ Night Out – 6-8 p.m. at CW Day Park (100 Michelle St. NW, Hanceville)

Visitors can enjoy a rock climbing wall, three different inflatables, a mechanical bull and a wide display of emergency responder vehicles. They can also receive a ticket for one free meal (hot dogs, pizza or a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich) with chips and a drink.

 

Saturday, Aug. 3

Back-to-School Bash hosted by Spring Hill Baptist – 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church (5400 U.S. Highway 278 W, Cullman 35057)

The church will provide free food, water and water inflatables.

 

Wednesday. Aug. 7

Back-to-School Night at East Side Baptist – 5:15-8 p.m. at East Side Baptist Church (1111 Third St. SE, Cullman)

The event will feature games, giveaways, inflatables and free food.
