Funeral service for Noel Richard Harris, age 60, of Hanceville, will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Barbara Trussell officiating; interment in Holly Pond Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at his home in the loving arms of his wife and daughter. He was born April 23, 1959, in Cullman, Alabama, to Alvin Noal and Omie Glenn Harris.
He was a member of the Cullman High School class of 1977. and just retired from CSX transportation (formerly L&N Railroad) after 38 years of service where he was a heavy equipment mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents and special aunt and uncle, Mary and Bud Shaw of Holly Pond.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha Lynn Whitener Harris of Cullman; daughter, Erica Lynn Harris of Cullman; sister, Brenda Carol (Jerry) Harris of Decatur; nephew, B.J. (Victoria) Harris; great-nephews, Cade Harris and Drew Harris; step-sisters, Brenda Jarkey and Ann Shindler; step-brother, Bob Shelton, and a host of aunts and cousins.
The family wishes to send special thanks to mother-in-law, Gail (Russell) Hoff, CRMC Hospice, UAB staff and nurses of P9 in the West Pavilion, and a host of special friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Barry Calloway, Glenn Dovel, Tyrone Hubbard, Josh Speake, Chris Eads, John Pate, Doug Harris, B.J. Harris.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
