BREMEN, Ala. – Good Hope, Bremen and Dodge City fire departments responded to a house fire Friday afternoon at 140 County Road 234 (Misty Harbor Road) between Dodge City and Bremen. The owners of the residence were not home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Lt. Phillip Bray of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office said, “All we really know right now is that there is a fire. We have no idea as to what caused it. There are no indications of anyone being inside.”

Bray said dogs living inside the home were able to escape as first responders entered the structure.

By 1:30 p.m. the main fire had been extinguished, but firefighters continued to battle hot spots.

Dodge City Fire Chief Matt Weaver confirmed, “Nobody is inside. We can confirm that.”

The home appeared to be a complete loss as Weaver described the scene as a “salvage and overhaul.”

The owners of the home arrived shortly after the fire was extinguished. They were not available for comment.
