Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Killen Cobb

Mary Elizabeth Killen Cobb, 91, of Double Springs, entered into rest on May 22, 2019 at Hendrix Health and Rehab Center.

Mary was born on April 10, 1928 in Double Springs, Alabama. Mary attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for 12 years. She was a member of Double Springs Methodist Church. She also worked as a cashier for Piggly Wiggly in Double Springs for 30 years

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery. Brother Shawn Blanton will officiate.

Mary is survived by her son, Raymond Michael (Leah) Cobb; daughters, Mary Linda (Johnny P.) Blanton and Patsy Elaine (Ronald) Densmore; brother, Jack (Vickie) Killen; sisters, Penny Ford, Doris Culpepper, Maxine Cook, and Betty Spann; sisters-in-law, Joyce Killen, Betty Porter, and Jean Wakefield; Maw Maw Lib to six grandchildren, Paula Blanton (Michael) Williams, Ronala Densmore (Byron) Cooper, Shawn (Shelly) Blanton, Kayla Densmore (Bryan) Kirkpatrick, Zeb (Becky) Cobb, and J. Leigh Cobb (Jon) McCown; Maw Maw Lib to 15 great grandchildren, Seth (McKenzie) Blanton, Madison Williams, Connor Williams, Saige Blanton, Sy Blanton, Christian Densmore, Isabella Cooper, Sawyer Kirkpatrick, Riley Kirkpatrick, Caleigh Cobb, Jon Ryker McCown, Blakeleigh Raine McCowan, Lynleigh Cobb, Colt Michael Cobb, Laney Jo Cobb, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Irene Killen; husband, William Raymond Cobb; brother, Bill Killen; brothers-in-law, Billy C. Ford, Roland Culpepper, Jimmy Cook, Glenn Spann, Buck Wakefield, Marvin Cobb, and Mahugh Porter; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Max and Nola Cleghorn, Obera and Otha Holt, and Doyle and Dois Cobb.

The family wishes to express thank you to special friends Helen McCombs, Dois Elliott, and Bonnie Tidwell. Also thank you to the staff and nurses at Hendrix Health and Rehab.
