CULLMAN, Ala. – The St. Bernard community welcomed Tyler Hooper (SBP ’07) to the Alumni and Development Office of the school in April.  Hooper, a recipient of the General Excellence Award while at St. Bernard Prep, graduated with honors in 2011 from Samford University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  After graduation, he managed his family’s business and in 2015 he began working for a group called REV Birmingham.

REV Birmingham is an economic development agency that creates vibrant commercial districts in Birmingham.  It was through this program Hooper gained experience in grant writing and fundraising from the local to the national levels for Birmingham revitalization projects.

Hooper said, “I am glad to be back at St. Bernard giving back to the school which gave so much to me. I have so many memories of my years at Sacred Heart School and my years at St. Bernard.  I will always be grateful for the education I received here, which made it possible for me to attend Samford University with some wonderful scholarships.”

“I’m glad to welcome Tyler as a member of the development team here at St. Bernard,” said Fr. Marcus Voss, director of development.  “He has a strong work ethic and experience in the field of fundraising.  As a graduate of St. Bernard Prep School, he shares the memories of our current alumni and can help build that program as we move forward.”

“I am excited about creating this new chapter of my life,” Hooper said, “and I look forward to connecting with people who love St. Bernard as much as I do.”
