CULLMAN – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Harmony School and the community are mourning the loss of Sgt. Arvel Allison. Allison, most recently the school resource officer at Harmony,  passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, according to a spokesman for the CCSO.

“The Cullman County Sheriff's Office would ask that you pray for Sergeant Arvel Allison's family and his law enforcement family during this difficult time. During the last few months he has been fighting an illness,” said a statement from the department.

During his career, Allison, in law enforcement for 49 years, served as a patrol deputy and narcotics deputy before becoming a school resource officer.

“Most recently he has been the school resource deputy at Harmony School in Crane Hill, where he was beloved by the children, teachers and all those who knew him,” said the CCSO.
