HANCEVILLE – It may be July, but Christmas is just around the corner and the Wallace State Community College Alumni Association is offering two short trips that will surely get you in the Christmas spirit.

The first is a day-trip to Nashville on Nov. 18, to enjoy a matinee performance of the Cirque Dream Holidaze show at Grand Ole Opry House. The group will travel to Nashville by motorcoach, arriving in time to visit and have lunch either at Opry Mills or the Gaylord Opryland Hotel before the show. Both the mall and hotel will be decorated for the holidays.

Cirque Dream Holidaze is a Broadway musical featuring amazing acrobatics, over 300 costumes, singers, and much more to kick off the holiday season. This is a family show filled with snowmen, angels, reindeer, toy soldiers – a perfect holiday gift for the entire family.

The cost is $130 per person and includes reserved seating to the performance and transportation to and from Nashville. Space is limited and the deadline to register for the trip is Sept. 1. Visit www.wsccalumni.org/holidaze for more information and to register.

The next trip is a two-day, one-night trip to Callaway Gardens and Warm Springs, Georgia, Dec. 5-6, to take in the eight million lights at the Gardens’ Fantasy in Lights display and a guided tour of FDR’s Little White House, where the “Unfinished Portrait” that was being painted at the time of Roosevelt’s death is on display, along with many other exhibits.

Guests will stay at the Mountain Creek Inn at Callaway Gardens, enjoy dinner at Country Kitchen Restaurant and a Southern buffet lunch at Bulloch House Restaurant. Accommodations, both meals and breakfast at the hotel are included in the cost.

The cost, which also includes transportation, admission to attractions, baggage handling, taxes and gratuities, ranges from $275 to $464 depending on occupancy and Alumni Association membership status. Alumni Association members enjoy a $100 discount on fees for overnight trips.
