CULLMAN – The Bearcats hosted Albertville Tuesday night for an area matchup that Cullman won handily, 10-0. Will Morrison got the start on the bump for Cullman and after he gave up a double down the left-field line in the top of the first, the Aggies didn’t put another man on base for the rest of the night. Morrison went six innings, allowing one hit with 11 strikeouts and zero walks. Morrison found the strike zone on 56 of his 65 pitches, leading to some short innings for Albertville.

At the plate, Grayson Taylor got things started with a solo shot over the scoreboard that put the ‘Cats up 1-0. Albertville got three quick outs in the third, but Cullman blew the game open in the bottom of the fourth. Brennen Norton drove in two runs on a deep shot off the wall in center field and Carson Freeman drove a ball up the middle to score two more. Weston Norton tacked on a sixth run with an RBI single, and an infield error by the Aggies allowed two more Bearcats to cross the plate and take an 8-0 lead into the fifth.

Morrison took over from that point, collecting four strikeouts in the fifth and sixth before ending the game early on a two-run shot over the center field wall. Brennen Norton, Morrison and Carson Freeman each led the ‘Cats with two RBIs.

Cullman will look to close out the series Thursday on the road at Albertville. The Bearcats have won 15 of their last 18 and are starting to settle in with just a few weeks left before the postseason.
