TUSCALOOSA – The Bearcats set out to continue their red-hot stretch as they took on Northridge on the road Monday. Three different Cullman pitchers gave up a combined eight hits and one run; that, and a big third inning, were more than enough, as Cullman took the game, 6-1.

Cooper Beck led off the game for Cullman with a walk, then one out later, Will Morrison hit an RBI double to center field to put the Bearcats on the scoreboard. They added to their lead in the third. Beck led off the inning with a walk, then he advanced to second on a wild pitch and to third on an error. Weston Norton hit an RBI single to right field to make it 2-0, then back-to-back singles by Peyton Colvard and Grayson Taylor loaded the bases for Brennen Norton; he drew a walk to force home a run. Colvard and Taylor both scored on a Will Hamiter error and Carson Freeman added a sacrifice fly to make it a 6-0 lead for Cullman. Tyler Nunnelley allowed an RBI single to Noah Buettner in the seventh, but got the next batter to ground out to end the game.

Weston and Brennen Norton each had two hits and an RBI for Cullman. Morrison chipped in with a hit and an RBI. Nunnelley added two RBIs. Freeman also had an RBI in the game. Taylor added two hits. Colvard and Sam Baker each chipped in with a hit. Beck scored two runs. Brady Patterson, Colvard, Taylor and Brennen Norton each scored a run. Braxton Jones started the game for the Bearcats and he pitched four shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out two. Dylon Wallace went one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and walking two. Nunnelley allowed three hits, a run, walked one and struck out two in his one and two-third innings of work.
