FAIRVIEW – The Fairview Aggies hosted the Hanceville Bulldogs Friday night and it ended up being a one-sided affair for most of the night. The Aggies ended things in five innings with a 14-2 rout of the Bulldogs. Fairview was in control on the mound and at the plate.

The Aggies plated one run in the first inning on an error in left field to take an early lead but scored 10 in the second to take a commanding lead over Hanceville and ultimately put the game away. The Bulldogs got on the board with a two-run blast over the center field wall from Dalton Rice, but it was too little too late for Hanceville.

The Aggies put three more runs on the board in the bottom of the fourth and got three quick outs in the fifth to cap off the night with a 14-2 victory.

Fairview’s starter on the hill, Jarrett Miller went the distance for the Aggies, throwing all five innings and collecting seven strikeouts. Miller gave up just two hits to the Bulldogs’ bats and kept the walks down as well with just two. At the plate, Dayne Black and Timothy Bennett led the way for Fairview. Black reached base in all four of his at bats, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and drawing a walk. Bennett also reached in all his plate appearances, finishing 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a walk.

The Aggies are slated to travel to Athens Bible Saturday where they will try to keep their bats hot, and the Bulldogs will look to bounce back with a win Tuesday on the road against Cordova.
