Robin Henderson (right) from Holly Pond is the newest member of the Cullman chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) to be inducted into the order by Chapter President Ken Brown.
Members of the SAR can trace their family roots back to a patriot ancestor who fought in or supported the American side in our Revolution. There are more than 1,100 members here in Alabama alone.
The Cullman chapter sponsors patriotic essay contests in our schools, provides a color guard for various community events each year, gives talks on the Revolution to students and civic groups and recognizes veterans and local wounded warriors.
The group meets at the Cullman VFW seven times a year.
