CULLMAN COUNTY – Now that the month of July is upon us, chatter is increasing about high school football.

In one month, high school teams will head to the practice fields, where they’ll have approximately three weeks to go through drills and fine tune their skills for the first weekend of games on Aug. 25.

Teams are currently spending time each day inside their weight rooms and mixing in opportunities for 7-on-7 competitions, or organized team activities, with other schools.

The 2017 regular season football schedule is the same setup from 2016, with the change in venues basically the only difference.

Of the 10 schools covered by The Tribune, seven will officially begin the season Aug. 25. The other three will kick off the schedule Sept. 1, with all going through two and a half months of excitement on Friday nights, with Nov. 3 the finale for the regular schedule.
