BAILEYTON – The Discovery Channel show “Street Outlaws” centers on a group of “underground” street racers based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Fans of the show follow the efforts of drivers to get on and top “the List.”

The show’s website says, “Oklahoma City boasts they have the fastest underground street racers in America.  Those cars and those drivers holding that title can all be found on Street Outlaws’ ‘The List.’  Competition is tight and ruthless on The List. So strap-in and put the pedal to the floor cause there’s only enough room for 10 drivers and there’s always someone striving to break in or move up . . . They compete habitually to move up The List, but are always eager to team-up and take on any challenge thrown their way.  They’ve mercilessly proven time and time again, from California to Texas to Michigan, that Oklahoma City holds the fastest cars in the country.  The stakes are high and the risks are greater, but it’s all worth it to reach #1.”

This Saturday, fans of “Street Outlaws” and drag racing alike will have the opportunity to enjoy a memorable evening at the Good Time Drag Strip as James Goad, currently no. 10 on The List, brings his heavily modified 1968 Camaro SS “Reaper” to Baileyton.  He’ll be meeting and greeting fans before he takes to the strip to put on demonstrations of OKC outlaw power.  Outlaw merchandise will also be available.  The track’s regular Saturday activities continue as well, with 70-80 cars (pro and street legal) expected to come out for pro and footbrake runs.

Goad’s travels between other events will bring him through the area, and he struck a last-minute deal with drag strip manager Russ Easterwood to stop off in Baileyton on his way.  A large portion of the proceeds from Reaper’s visit will help the drag strip staff continue a series of upgrades to the facility.  Over the last few years, they’ve done some repaving and built safety walls.  This event will help them repave the pit area and make some other improvements.

Baileyton has previously hosted Street Outlaws’ drivers Kye Kelly and Daddy Dave.
