HANCEVILLE – Wallace State’s Student Government Association (SGA) recently participated in the “Props for Cops” state-wide initiative, distributing backpacks filled with goodies for the college’s police department.

The backpacks contained the following items: a Wallace State T-shirt and hat, candy and crackers, a lanyard, a water bottle, tissues, hand sanitizer, an umbrella and thank-you notes from SGA members and other campus offices. The SGA members and the police officers also ate breakfast together, enjoying Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits.

Wallace State’s Police Department is made up of Tyler Roden, Brandi Parker, Neal Whitlock, Brad Black, Shane Drake, Jimmy Posey and Kyle Price.

Wallace State’s SGA members who delivered the backpacks were Nick Parrott, Kelci Tuggle, Daniel Lockley, Shiann Harper, Jasmine Zavala and Tamara Gentry.

The “Props to Cops” state-wide campaign was spearheaded in May by the Birmingham-based Crawford Broadcasting.
