CULLMAN – It was an up and down year for the Cullman Bearcats in 2015, going 6-4 and getting booted from the playoffs in the first round by the eventual state runner-up, Clay-Chalkville, but the Cats and head coach Mark Britton look to change that this year.

“I really like the attitude and chemistry of this team, “said Britton. “They are determined and hard workers.”

There is no doubt the Cats will be ready to play and it is a good thing as Cullman is facing one of the toughest regions around. With teams like Fort Payne, Oxford, Pell City and Southside-Gadsden, the Cats will have to be more focused than ever.

To help Cullman on their quest for a blue map are returning offensive starters Ross Crocker, Hunter Brannon, Tyler Nunnelley, Caden Winn and Dawson Drake.

Holding down the fort on defense will be Garrett Cornelius, Tyler Taunton, Caleb Lipsey and Owen Lovell.

“Our goals are pretty simple,” Britton said about the upcoming season. “We want to win the next game! If we keep doing that, we will be great!”

The next game the Cullman Bearcats will be looking to win is against long-standing rival Hartselle on Aug. 18 at Hartselle. Make your plans to cheer on your Cullman Bearcats as they make the march toward the playoffs.
