HANCEVILLE – Anyone interested in enrolling in an allied health program at Wallace State Community College should keep in mind approaching deadlines for turning in applications for entry into those programs. Most of the programs accept new students in the fall semesters, but some also have entries open in the spring and summer semesters.

For the summer 2016 semester, the deadline for applications to the Clinical Laboratory Technician and Human Services is April 15. Child Development, Human Services, Emergency Medical Services and Patient Care Specialist programs allow admission during each semester.

And while the fall semester may be several months away on the calendar, the process for applying to most of the health programs begins as early as March 15 in some cases.

The Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing programs at Wallace State begin accepting applications for fall admission starting on March 15, with a final deadline of May 15.

The Physical Therapist Assistant program accepts applications from April 1 through June 1.

June 1 is also the deadline date for applications for fall admission to the following programs: Clinical Laboratory Technician, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Imaging, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Information Technology and Medical Coding, Human Services, Medical Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Pharmacy Technology, Polysomnography and Respiratory Therapy.

The Therapeutic Massage Therapy program accepts applications for fall admission from June 15-July 31.

The Medical Assistant and Associate Degree Nursing programs also accept entry during the spring semester, with Nov. 1 as the deadline for applying for the Medical Assistant program and July 1-September 1 for the Nursing program.

Program officials encourage students to start the application process as soon as possible and to consider applying to more than one program. Some of the programs are very competitive, so applying for more than one program will increase your opportunities for acceptance and could offer additional pathways to success.
