CULLMAN – On Sunday, March 13, Camp Seale Harris, a part of the Southeastern Diabetes Education Services (SDES), will hold its annual Cullman Spring Family Fun Day at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center (CWAC).

The event, held each spring, is an opportunity for Camp Seale Harris to put its mission, which is “to educate, encourage and empower children with diabetes and their families to live well,” in action.

“This is a family event,” said John Latimer, camp and community project director for CSH said. “It is an opportunity for parents of children with diabetes to meet other families like them and get that connection.”

Sponsored by the Cullman Community Lions Club, the event is free to attend for all who register.

“We hold it at the Aquatic Center so the kids can play and have fun, because camp is about fun. Kids learn by doing and getting to participate. We will provide fun activities for the kids. And while the kids are learning and playing, the families get to connect and talk with each other,” Latimer said.

Camp Seale Harris is a camp organization with no permanent campsite. Although its main office is in Birmingham, it travels around the state for different events such as the one to be held at the CWAC.

The Fourth Annual Camp Seale Harris Cullman Spring Family Fun Day will be at the CWAC from 1:30-5:30 p.m. CWAC is located at 1636 Field of Miracles Drive in Cullman.

Those interested in attending are asked to please register in advance by March 10, 2016 by emailing info@southeasterndiabetes.org or calling 205-402-0415.  For more information on the Cullman Spring Family Fun Day, click here.
