CULLMAN – Last week, the United Way of Cullman County received a $5,000 donation from Belk. Manager Cathy Anderson presented the check on behalf of the Cullman Belk store.

According to Stephanie Wood, marketing and communications coordinator at Cullman’s United Way, along with the donation received from Belk, the non-profit was also given a donation of $2,000 from the Cullman Area Society of Human Resource Management (CSHRM).

That check, according to Wood, was donated from the proceeds of a recent workshop that the CSHRM hosted.

Each of the donations goes toward the United Way’s goal of $425,000 for 2015-2016.

The United Way of Cullman County is the independent local branch of the national United Way organization. It facilitates the raising of funds for many local agencies, ranging from animal shelters to organizations assisting homeless or special needs members of the community.
