HUNTSVILLE- Rain will change over to snow tonight, with accumulations of 1-2 inches expected EAST of I-65 (for Dekalb, Marshall, and Jackson counties in NE AL, and Franklin County in Southern Middle Tennessee). In addition, gusty northwest winds will produce dangerous wind chills tonight, so a Wind Chill Warning is in effect. Values of 0 to -10F are expected tonight.

 

Warnings/Advisories

 

  • Winter Weather Advisory – A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. on Monday. Snowfall accumulations of 1-2 inches are expected with highest accumulations in the higher terrain of NE Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee.
  • Wind Advisory – A Wind Advisory is in effect from noon today through noon on Monday. Sustained north winds between 20 and 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph (especially in elevated locations) are expected.
  • Wind Chill Warning – A Wind Chill Warning is in effect from midnight tonight through noon on Tuesday. Windy conditions will drop wind chill values to between 0F and -10F in lower elevations and to between -10F and -20F in higher terrain. Bundle up and wear multiple layers of clothing tonight.
