CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man wanted on felony warrants from multiple agencies was arrested Monday, Oct. 19, after fleeing from officers and hiding inside a local business, according to the Cullman Police Department.

Steven Scott McDonald was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and attempting to elude a police officer in addition to the outstanding warrants, the CPD said.

According to the department, officers on routine patrol spotted McDonald at a local business and knew he had outstanding felony warrants with multiple agencies in surrounding jurisdictions.

Police said McDonald ran through the parking lot as officers attempted to make contact with him, then entered the business and attempted to conceal himself behind equipment.

Officers located McDonald inside the business moments later and took him into custody without further incident, according to the CPD. Officers from a second patrol shift also assisted in the arrest.

McDonald was later transported from the Cullman County Detention Center to Shelby County to face pending felony charges, police said.

The CPD did not identify the business or specify the outstanding felony charges.

The charges are accusations, and McDonald is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
