David Lynn Cegelski, age 72, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Born on July 28, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, David was the son of Bennie Cegelski and Rosabell Wilms Cegelski. He spent many years working as a log haul truck driver and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.
David enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and hunting, was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and never missed an opportunity to watch the team’s cheerleaders. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his sense of humor, and the many memories he shared with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Rosabell Cegelski, and his brother, Stephen Cegelski.
David leaves behind his brothers, Michael Cegelski and Tom Cegelski; his sisters, Cindy White, Donna Rohling, and Mary Curling; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.
A graveside interment at Alabama National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
