BREMEN, Ala. – The Cold Springs Eagles kicked off their 2026 season at home on Friday night, facing county foe Vinemont. While scoring was slow, the boys in blue and yellow got a quick notch in the win column with an eventual 9-0 shutout of Vinemont.

Cold Springs took an early 2-0 led when Vinemont fumbled a snap on a punt in their own end zone. Cold Springs added to their led when Cason Alexander found Eli Voce for a 24-yard touchdown on fourth down to give the hometown Eagles a 9-0 led with 9:06 left in the first half.

On a big third down attempt mid-way through the third quarter, Cold Springs’ Cason Alexander intercepted a third down pass to set Cold Springs up with a short field. Vinemont’s defense once again stepped up to force a turnover on downs in four plays. Vinemont found something on offense in the closing minutes of the game, but eventually fell just three yards short on 4th-and-goal. Cold Springs was able to run the clock out with a couple first downs, ending the game with two QB kneels.
