CULLMAN, Ala. – Family, friends and supporters will gather on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Sportsman Lake Park to honor the life and memory of Tabitha Franklin, who has been missing since Aug. 13, 2009.
The remembrance event will be held from 2-4 p.m. and will provide an opportunity for the community to come together, remember Tabitha and renew awareness of her unsolved disappearance. The event will feature a casual barbecue gathering, remembrance activities and opportunities for attendees to share memories and show support for Tabitha’s family. Cullman’s own Jesse Priest will perform live.
Tabitha Franklin was 28 years old when she disappeared from Cullman County. She was last seen in the West Point area on County Road 1136. Despite the passage of 17 years, her family continues to seek answers and remains committed to keeping her story in the public eye.
“We want people to remember that Tabitha is more than a missing person’s case. She is a daughter, sister, aunt, friend and loved one whose absence continues to be felt every day,” said family members organizing the event.
The family invites members of the media to attend the event and help bring renewed attention to Tabitha’s case. Any coverage of the remembrance event may help generate new leads or encourage someone with information to come forward.
