HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The City of Hanceville and Hanceville Parks and Recreation will host the Hanceville America 250 Community Celebration on Saturday, July 25, from noon-9 p.m., at C.W. Day Park. The free event will feature live music, food trucks, local vendors, a touch-a-truck experience, a children’s activity zone, free admission to the Hanceville Pool and a fireworks show to end the night at 8:45, giving families a full day of fun in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

“We are incredibly excited to host the America 250 celebration, but what excites us most is that this is just the beginning,” said Hanceville Parks and Recreation Director David Wasilewski. “Consider this event the foundation for a new chapter of community gatherings. We’re laying the groundwork to bring bigger, better and more frequent events to our city for everyone to enjoy.”

This year’s celebration will also incorporate the annual Hanceville Grilled Cheese Festival, which was postponed in May. Many of the festival’s vendors and sponsors will also be part of the America 250 celebration, bringing the two community events together into one day.

“We’re excited to bring the community together for Hanceville’s America 250 Celebration,” said Hanceville Mayor Nolan Bradford. “This will be a great day for families, neighbors and visitors to celebrate our country, enjoy our park and make memories right here in Hanceville.”
