Franny (Cullman County Animal Shelter)

CULLMAN, Ala. – Franny, The Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week, isn’t the loudest dog in the yard, and she doesn’t demand attention the moment you walk in. Instead, she is a doggo quietly waiting to be discovered, a hidden gem with a mountain of love just beneath the surface.

A terrier/Lab mix estimated at around 6 years old, Franny has a calm, steady energy that makes her easy to be around from the very start. She doesn’t overwhelm; she invites. Spend just a few moments with her and she’ll show you exactly who she is. She’ll sit beside you, gently lift one paw, then the other, offering them as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. It’s more than a trick; it’s her way of connecting.

In those small, simple gestures, Franny shows her love language clearly: acts of service, quiet affection and a desire to be close. Once she’s made that connection, the idea of being strangers disappears completely.

Franny’s leash manners are just as impressive. She walks with ease and attentiveness, making her an excellent fit for someone looking for a dependable companion on daily walks, outings or simply time spent outdoors.

With her temperament, intelligence and gentle nature, she has all the makings of a wonderful therapy or companion dog, the kind that brings comfort without needing to say a word.

Franny is available for adoption for $130, a small price for a dog whose value goes far beyond what any number could represent. The fee covers her spay, vaccinations, microchipping and routine veterinary care.

Visit the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Contact the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 256-734-5448 or cullmananimalshelter@co.cullman.al.us.

If Franny finds her forever home, there are many more dogs and cats still waiting at the shelter, each with their own story and the same hope of being chosen.
