Funeral service for Bonnie Jean Schaefer, 89, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Welti Cemetery, Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m.

Mrs. Schaefer passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born June 22, 1936, to Max & Vada Mae Sullins Holland. She was a very smart and artistic lady. She loved to draw, paint, loved photography, sewing, cooking, and gardening. She grew roses and entered them in the fair every year.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold Schaefer; son, Michael Laney (Melissa); daughters, Paula Jean Hooven (Bill), Sandra June Martin (Brian), Penny Diann Felton (Brian); sisters, Jeanetta Palmer, Norma Holland Ransom, Nora Dean; grandchildren, Brandi Hicks, Daniel Holman, Billy Hooven, Jesse Hooven, Deshannon Burns, Elizabeth Laney, Patrick Laney, Mark Laney, Wesley Phillips, Matt Phillips, Tina Gilley, Joe Martin Molly Davis; 17 great-grandchildren; family and friends.
