Barbara Ann Friedrich was born on October 22, 1953, and passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 72. A beloved and cherished woman, Barbara was known for being compassionate, devoted, faithful, and gentle, with a hard-working spirit, patient strength, wise counsel, and a thoughtful way of caring for others. Barbara resided in Cullman, Alabama. Barbara earned a Master’s degree before beginning her career in the Department of Human Resources.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Werner Friedrich; her parents, Willie O and Lillie Thompson Blackwood; her son, Matthew Richard Friedrich; her sister, Doris Screws; her brother, Larry Blackwood; and her grandparents, Willie and Ettiebell Blackwood & Virgil and Minnie Thompson.
Barbara is survived by her son, Patrick Dee Friedrich; her sister, Joyce Nix (Charles); her grandchildren, Gabriel (Jewel) Friedrich and Lucas Friedrich; along with three great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of life memorial visitation will be held at Moss-Service Funeral Home, 1901 2nd Ave North West, Cullman, AL 350555827, US, on March 15, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a Celebration of life memorial service at Moss-Service Funeral Home on March 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. Barbara will be laid to rest in Cullman City Cemetery.
