CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County residents should expect government office closures and limited service adjustments on New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, with most operations resuming Friday, Jan. 2.
Cullman County offices, including the courthouse, will be closed Thursday in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday.
County sanitation services will also be closed that day, resulting in a one-day delay for garbage collection routes for the remainder of the week.
Within the city limits of Cullman, municipal offices will be closed Thursday for New Year’s Day.
However, residential and commercial sanitation services inside the city will continue operating on their regular schedules.
As of publication, several municipalities within Cullman County had not publicly posted New Year’s Day closure or service delay notices.
Residents in those municipalities are encouraged to monitor official municipal communication channels or contact city or town halls directly for the most up-to-date information.
