CHEROKEE, Ala. – Addison scored 36 points in the first quarter and built a 54-0 halftime lead Friday night, defeating Cherokee 61-0 for its eighth consecutive victory.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 2 in Class 1A in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association poll, improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in Region 7.

The Bulldogs added seven points in the fourth quarter to finish with their highest scoring total of the season, surpassing the 60 points they scored against Waterloo on Sept. 4.

Friday’s shutout continued a stretch in which Addison has outscored its last three opponents 163-0.
